I began working at my internship site, Young Dawgs, on Monday, May 14th. I have completed various types of work throughout my time here to prepare for the students who are coming to participate. The program does not officially start until Monday the 28th, so a lot of my work now is preparing and organizing. This work includes organizing all student and supervisor information, developing proposals, creating schedules and newsletters for students, and gathering and organizing information for the program that will take place in the fall. Additionally, I have visited a few work sites for students who began early to ensure that everything was running smoothly for both the student and the supervisor. However, I will be doing more of that when the program officially begins. Due to the fact that the program has not officially started, I have only demonstrated a few responsibilities and competencies so far. I listed the corresponding responsibilities and competencies for the previous activities below.
- Responsibility III: Implement Health Education Strategies, Interventions and Programs
- Competency B: demonstrate a variety of skills in delivering strategies, interventions and programs
- use instructional technology effectively
