Young Dawgs

This summer I will be interning for Young Dawgs, a program through the University of Georgia’s Human Resources Department. This program aims to help rising juniors and seniors in high school with a grade point average of 3.7 or higher prepare for post-secondary education and future careers of their interest. Students accepted into the program participate in unpaid internships on campus and throughout the community. Since the program began in 2008, there have been 1,100 high school students participating in over 440 different work sites.

My job as an intern will involve visiting sites to make sure things are running smoothly, helping students with their end of summer presentations, and being a troubleshooter for various challenges that may arise. I will also be supervising the students and coming up with stress-relieving activities such as dinners, games, movies, etc. I will be readily available for all students and staff at almost all hours of the day and night accomplishing any task that needs to be done.
