Week 8 (7/2 – 7/6)

This week was the last week of the Young Dawgs Summer 2018 program so it was a little different. On Monday night I finally got to implement my big plan that I had been working on for the kids to help them relax before their big presentations. This plan consisted of a contest reflecting over their time spent here this summer. Overall I would say that this plan was a success because the students were laughing the entire time. On Tuesday and Thursday I helped judge the final presentations the students have been working on for the entire program. On Friday was the big luncheon at the Village Summit to celebrate. This was another one of my big plans I have been working on during this internship. Again, I would have to say it was a success! In between my time spent judging and at the luncheon I spent time working and planning for the Fall and Spring programs. My supervisor has said that this term has by far been the best due to all of the implemented plans I have done regarding the students and their mental health. These plans mainly consisted of the ones mentioned previously as well as smaller ones including games of capture the flag, ships and sailors, the Herp Lab, etc. Below are the responsibilities and competencies that go with my previously listed activities.
