Week 7 (6/24 – 6/28)

This week consisted of many practice presentations due to the fact that the program comes to an end next week. During each practice presentation I gave advice to each student as how to make improvements. I felt like this was an important role because I could tell the students were very nervous presenting a college presentation in front of a large audience. My other main task for this week regarding the students consists of planning and implementing activities in the evenings. These activities included shaving cream fights, freeze tag, ships and sailors, as well as other fun, engaging activities. I really enjoyed to see the students laughing and having a good time because they have all discussed with me how stressed out they have been recently. Other than those main activities, I spent a lot of my days organizing fall and spring student information, working on a job description for any future interns, and making sure everything is ready for the summer program presentation next week. I have realized during this internship that not only am I playing a role in relieving stress for my students but for my supervisor as well. I am taking a lot of the busy work that he used to have to complete and doing it myself. This allows him to have more free time to do more important tasks. I had never realized how useful to other people this internship would be. I have listed to corresponding responsibilities and competencies for the previous activities below.
