Due to the fact that the Young Dawgs Summer program ended last week, this week was spent winding down, organizing information for the past and future students, planning for next summer, as well as practicing our new plan that we have been working on for the Engage! Conference. Organizing the student information was my smallest task of the week. Week 8 (7/2 – 7/6)
This week was the last week of the Young Dawgs Summer 2018 program so it was a little different. On Monday night I finally got to implement my big plan that I had been working on for the kids to help them relax before their big presentations. This plan consisted of a contest reflecting over their time spent here this summer. Overall I would say that this plan was a success because the students were laughing the entire time. Week 7 (6/24 – 6/28)
This week consisted of many practice presentations due to the fact that the program comes to an end next week. During each practice presentation I gave advice to each student as how to make improvements. I felt like this was an important role because I could tell the students were very nervous presenting a college presentation in front of a large audience. My other main task for this week regarding the students consists of planning and implementing activities in the evenings. These activities included shaving cream fights, freeze tag, ships and sailors, as well as other fun, engaging activities. I …
